The TelexFax System 2 is a modular telex and/or fax server, which can be connected to a variety of user systems such as PC workstations and Mainframe computers. The TelexFax System 2 is an extremely powerful and user-friendly server working totally independently of the LAN server and user workstations connected.

The TelexFax System 2 fully integrates the GN Comtext international network for providing a fast, reliable and secure delivery to telex and Group 3 fax numbers worldwide. GN Comtext provides substantial cost savings on international transmission costs. As the TelexFax System 2 supports gateways both to GN Comtext and the local PTT, messages can be delivered by the least cost route. For example GN Comtext can be used for international message delivery and the local PTT network for national delivery.

The TelexFax System 2 includes powerful firmware supporting, among others, a user-friendly command set for application programs and connection to any LAN or PC network.

The TelexFax System 2 is a server (as seen above) with RAM, harddrive, diskette and peripheral interfaces, to be delivered in different field upgradable configurations.

The TelexFax Firmware handles all input/out trans-actions, data conversion, queue administration, etc. and includes, among others, a powerful user-friendly command set for application programs and a network interface for any LAN and PC network.

The Fax module is a set of software modules for converting, transmission, reception and printing of faxes. The Fax Module modem is installed in the TelexFax Server together with the TelexFax Firmware to form an integrated Telex and Fax solution.

The PcTelex Board is a complete intelligent telex server. The board can be installed in any IBM-compatible PC, but must be installed in the TelexFax Server to form an integrated Telex and Fax installation.

The Telex 80 System 1-2 is a complete intelligent stand-alone telex processor with up to 4 telex lines per unit. It is connected to the users system via V24/RS232C and shall only be connected to the TelexFax Server in order to form an integrated Telex and Fax solution.

The TelexFax/Win software klient is to be installed on the PC workstations having access to the TelexFax Server.

A local printer or network printer can be connected to the TelexFax Server, so that all incoming and outgoing telex and fax messages can be printed on plain paper. Almost any laserprinter and standard printer with Centronics parallel interface is supported.
